Terms of Use

These terms explain what Planarium is, what it is not, and what you can expect when you use it. By using Planarium you agree to them. Planarium is currently in beta.

Planarium is operated by Zachary Stevens, a sole trader trading as Planarium. You can contact Planarium at support@planarium.co.uk.

What Planarium provides

Planarium provides online calculators and planning tools relating to UK pay and pensions, currently focused on Civil Service take-home pay, salary changes and the Alpha pension scheme. You can use the calculators without an account.

Estimates and limitations

Every result is an estimate produced from the figures you enter and from published rules and clearly stated modelling assumptions. Results depend on the accuracy of your inputs. Real payroll, tax and pension outcomes can differ, sometimes materially.

Tax rates, thresholds, contribution bands, pension rules and revaluation figures change over time, and future values are assumptions rather than promises.

Not financial, tax, legal or pension advice

Planarium provides information and estimates only. It does not provide financial, tax, legal or pension advice, and nothing on the site should be treated as a personal recommendation. If a decision matters to you, consider taking regulated advice.

Alpha projections are illustrations

Alpha pension projections are illustrations, not official pension quotations. Only the Civil Service pension scheme administrator can provide an official statement or retirement quotation, including any early or late retirement factors.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for checking anything important against official sources such as GOV.UK, HMRC, your payslip, your employer or the Civil Service pension scheme administrator before acting on it.

Independence

Planarium is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of HMRC, Civil Service Pensions, the Cabinet Office or the UK Government.

Accounts and saved scenarios

You can create an account to save calculations. Keep your login details secure and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. You can ask us to delete your account and saved scenarios at any time by emailing support@planarium.co.uk.

Saved scenarios are stored to provide the service to you. They are not intended as a permanent record, so please keep your own copy of anything you need to retain.

Acceptable use

Please do not misuse the service: no attempts to gain unauthorised access, no automated scraping or load that disrupts the service for others, no attempts to interfere with security features, and no use of Planarium to break the law or infringe someone else's rights.

Availability and changes

Planarium is provided on an "as available" basis, particularly during beta. Features, calculations and assumptions may change, and the service may be unavailable at times for maintenance or other reasons.

Site content

The Planarium name, design, text and code are owned by the operator of the service or its licensors. You may use the site for your own personal or workplace planning. Please do not copy or republish substantial parts of the site without permission.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where the law does not allow it, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

Subject to that, Planarium is not liable for decisions you make based on estimates produced by the calculators, or for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Because results are estimates, please verify anything you rely on.

Links to other sites

Planarium may link to official or third-party sources. Those sites are not under our control and we are not responsible for their content.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the service develops. The date below shows when they were last changed.

Governing law

Planarium is operated from the United Kingdom. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any statutory rights you have as a consumer where you live.
